COLON HYDROTHERAPY

The most unimaginable, despised and neglected part of the body, the colon, is the cause of wide spread, degenerative diseases in modern civilization.  In the treatment of every chronic disease and acute malady, the colon must be considered.  The average colon in civilized communities is in a desperately deprived and dangerous condition.

Colon Hydrotherapy, an effective method for cleansing the large intestine, has been utilized for centuries as an adjunct to proper exercise, plenty of water, nutrition and personal hygiene.

About Colon Hydrotherapy

Do I need a Doctor's Prescription to receive Colon Hydrotherapy (Colonic)? Yes, since March 6, 2003. In the state of Texas, it is required by law to have a Medical Doctors prescription to receive Colon Hydrotherapy. You may use your doctor, or we may refer you to one.

Are there Pre-Existing Conditions or Contraindications that may prevent someone from receiving Colon Hydrotherapy services? Contraindications are as follows: Abdominal Hernia, Abdominal Surgery, Abnormal Distention/Masses, Acute Liver Failure, Anemia, Aneurysm, Carcinoma, Cardiac Conditions, Crohn's Disease/ Ulcerative Colitis, Dialysis Patients, Diverticulitis, Fissures/Fistulas, Hemorrhaging, Hemorrhoidectomy, Intestinal Perforation, Lupus, Pregnancy, Rectal Surgery, and Renal Insufficiencies.

What is a Colon Hydrotherapy Session Like? Sessions take place in a relaxing and private atmosphere and are facilitated by an I-ACT and National Board Certified Colon Hydrotherapist. Clients are draped at all times. FDA-approved equipment and sterile disposable single-use rectal nozzles and tubing are used.

What type of system will be used? For our clients' comfort and safety, we are proud users of the FDA-approved LIBBE open system. For more information regarding our Colon Hydrotherapy system, please go to: www.colonic.net.

Is it uncomfortable? An impacted colon can cause discomfort, and cramping may occur as the colon contracts to expel waste. However, many find a session pleasant once the major impaction is removed.

How Long will it take? New Clients will be in our office for 90 minutes for your first session. The actual process itself only takes about 45 minutes. When clients arrive, an intake form is completed. After which, the procedure is explained in detail. The Colon Hydrotherapist then addresses any questions or concerns. Once the client is entirely comfortable, the Colonic session begins.

Can I eat before a session? We ask that you do not eat 2 hours before your scheduled session. Please drink all the liquids you can except carbonated drinks and coffee. We need you hydrated.

Can I go to work after my session? Each client is different; most clients do not have to restrict their schedules.

Will Only OneColon Hydrotherapy session clean the entire large intestine? We do not have any diagnostic equipment to tell us exactly how far we have gotten in each session. One session will only empty part of the colon. As many doctors have written in many health books, two sessions are recommended the first week, back to back; two session's the second week. After which, maintenance sessions should be considered every week or month, depending on your wellness goals. Please keep your wellness goal(s) in mind and discuss them with your medical doctor before your session to suggest a more accurate recommendation.

Will a Colon Hydrotherapy session make me constipated or delay my bowel movements? The most common post-Colonic experience is to have a slight delay in bowel movements and then a resumption of a somewhat more significant, easier-to-move stool. Sometimes if the colon is weak and sluggish, there may be no bowel movement for several days following a Colonic. This is not due to the Colonic, but rather to the weakness of the colon, and may be interpreted as an indication that the colon requires strengthening.

Will Colon Hydrotherapy wash away the good and bad bacteria that naturally live in the large intestine? There is some debate surrounding this. However, many clients use a Probiotic, an over-the-counter dietary supplement found in most health food stores, to restore good bacteria.

What about electrolytes? You may want to replenish your electrolytes after a Colonic session. Some clients choose to use supplements or electrolyte-enhanced beverages to restore the electrolyte balance in the body.
